"Boy! Those Sun-Earth folks must work really hard to keep coming up with these great programs year after year."

Mary Brown, OAOG (Ottawa Valley Astronomy and Observers Group)

"The packages arrived today. Thank you so much. My congratulations to the developers of the weekly activities site. There is lots of great information--well laid out. That encourages teachers who are not comfortable with the topic to jump right in knowing they have good plans, correct information, and interesting ideas. Over the years, your packages have provided wonderful ideas."

Lori Crane, Associate Professor, Palm Beach Community College

"Thank you so much for your help and support. We made it to Panama and hosted three elementary schools for a day of learning about the sun. The students spent time learning about: the size of the sun, earth, moon, what happens during an eclipse, calculating the size of sunspots from recent pictures of the sun, and looking at the sun to view spots and features. Needless to say, the materials you provided were a hit!!! The kids especially loved the sun "pizzas" and were shocked when we took a piece of string and saw how far apart the sun and earth really are. We played the videos and had tons of posters and materials for the classrooms. In the end, I think that the kids left with a better understanding of the sun, earth, moon connection. In addition, the kids all had solar viewers to observe the eclipse the following day. Part of their "homework" was to teach their families about what was happening in the sky and to watch the sun!"

"I don't believe this. you are really doing ancient observatories? WOW!! I can't believe that NASA would even think that way!! I'm taking 2 Navajo students to a physics conference. This is good. Thanks!"

Sue Pritchard Teacher, Grade 8, Washington Middle School, La Habra, CA

"HAD TO SEND THIS ... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I know weather played its fun at the ancient observatories of Chichen Itza, Mexico, but what we could see of this astronomy-based phenomena engineered by the ancient Mayans was incredible! I gave the information to all of our teachers and I told all of my classes on Friday to try to watch if at all possible. My 86 year old father even got to see it on our computer. That was terrific. Thank you for letting us all know and for truly going the "extra kilometer" to give us such experiences. My students will be particularly happy with the bilingual transmission. Take care."
