Darlene Yan is the Outreach Coordinator of NASA's Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum team. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2001 with a B.A. degree in Rhetoric, and found herself working with solar physicists and astronomers a few years later. She assists in coordinating the team's teacher professional development workshops, events at schools, museums, and science centers, as well as the educational materials produced and distributed by the Forum. Darlene loves using her background in interpretation to translate Sun science into easily accessible terms for different audiences, whether it is a bevy of 10-year olds in a museum or K-12 teachers in a classroom setting. She recently participated in designing several of the learning resources, such as teacher's guides, lithographs, and CD-roms.
