As manager for the Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum at UC Berkeley, Karen Meyer has helped to define the vision and scope of work for the Forum since its inception. In addition to managing the Forum, she served as Project Manager for the first version of the Space Science Education Resource Directory, an on-line resource tool that serves the needs of K-12 educators. Prior to her work with SECEF, she managed science education projects for NASA's Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer mission. She has a long-standing interest in developing students' understanding, from tutoring "at-risk" elementary students to cultivating leadership skills in UC Berkeley undergraduates. With her daughter now entering Kindergarten, she has a new vantage point on science education. Ms. Meyer received her B.A. in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley in 1991. She has participated in several management programs at UC Berkeley, including the Leadership Development Program sponsored by the Office of the Chancellor.
