The Stanford Solar Center is our favorite web site for solar-terrestrial education this time. Here you will find just about everything you need to know about the Sun and how it affects the Earth. This site offers everything from challenging quizzes to Ask the Solar Physicist containing an on-line FAQ of over one hundred questions and answers.

You can even download and listen to sounds from the Sun, obtained from the Stanford Helioseismometer which is an experiment on the SOHO satellite. They have a large collection of lesson plans, and folklore tales from around the world from just about every culture that ever thought seriously about the Sun! This site received the 'Best of 97' award from Education World among many other awards they have received over the years. The hard work and enthusiasm of Deborah Scherrer, Paul Mortfield and Amara Graps clearly shows through in this excellent web site!
