Native American Connection

One of this year's main goals for Sun-Earth Day is to provide an opportunity for you to learn more about the Sun's connection to the Earth through images, cultural parallels and activities that Native Americans have used to share Sun-Earth science through several generations. You can learn more by visiting the links provided in the menu to the left. Also, this year's webcast will begin with an explanation of the Lakota celebration of the Equinox at Harney Peak, South Dakota. This introduction will include Lakota cultural parallels to the science of the Sun. To see more, click on "Lakota Parallels!"

Finally, by visiting the "Professional Biographies" link, you will find a growing list of biographies on several NASA professionals who represent a variety of Native American cultures and tribes.
